Smith created numerous fake bands and used AI to produce hundreds of thousands songs. He then used bots to stream these songs repeatedly, generating over $10 millions in royalties from platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music.
Smith’s operation whihc spanned server years, involved creating fake streaming accounts and using software to mimic real listeners. This allowed him to avoid detection while racking up billions of streams. Depsite his claims of innocence, Smith faces seriuos charges, including wire fraud and money laundering, each carrying a potential 20-year priseon sentence.
