This playbook is an essential part of your journey here. It sets clear expectations on both sides: what we expect of you, and what you can expect from us.

As a pragmatic and growing company, we may update this playbook from time to time. We’ll always do our best to highlight major changes, but it’s also your responsibility to stay informed.

Getting Started at MEARKEA
Starting a new role at MEARKEA comes with a mix of small details, big tasks, and continuous learning x curiosity mindset. From understanding your role to meeting your new teammates—your first few days are all about getting grounded.
Don’t worry—you’re not alone. Your manager, your teammates, and our People Team are all here to support you every step of the way.
Safety First—Always
Before anything else, we want to be clear:
Safety is MEARKEA’s most important KPI—for everyone, at every level.
Whether you’re in the field, at a warehouse, or behind a laptop, your well-being comes first.
From day one, you’ll be trained on our safety practices, protocols, and expectations. We believe that no target, task, or deadline is more important than protecting our people.
Your First Few Days
Before your first day, our People Team will make sure you’re fully equipped for success—whether you’re in the office or out in the field. This includes preparing your laptop, work accessories, uniforms, and any other tools of the trade you’ll need to hit the ground running.
A day or two before you start, your manager will send you first-day instructions:
• For back office staff, communication will come via email.
• For frontline team members, we’ll use តេលេក្រាម.
Your manager will be your main point of contact for early tasks and projects.
You’ll also connect with our IT Ops team, who will help you set up the systems, tools, and accounts you’ll use every day at MEARKEA.
Your “Welcome” Project
On your first day, you’ll log into the MEARKEA Intranet, where you’ll find a special onboarding project titled:
“Welcome, [Your First Name]
”
Inside, you’ll find a personalized to-do list with links to all the services, systems, and tools you need to set up.
You’ll also see matching checklists for your Ops Buddy and Manager—so you can follow along as they guide and support you.
Throughout your first few days, your buddy and manager will check in regularly to answer questions, clear roadblocks, and help you feel fully at home – one community in tribe way.
Your Tools, Training & People to Meet
To keep everyone’s devices safe and secure, we manage all our tools of trade using Kanji and our in-house system: MEARKEA Xtool.
Your access to essential software, security settings, and internal tools will be handled through these platforms.
Training & Onboarding
Your full training schedule and onboarding expectations will be available in your “Welcome Project” on the MEARKEA Intranet.
This will include:
• Links to your technical documentation
• Walkthrough videos
• Important MEARKEA projects and tools
• Helpful onboarding checklists
You’ll also find a People Map—a curated list of people to meet during your first few weeks as a proud new chicken
in the MEARKEA community.
People You’ll Meet
Here’s who you’ll be connecting with early on:
The People Team
They’ll walk you through MEARKEA’s culture, vision, mission, and the language we use to align as one team.
We’ll explain key terms like:
• Outcome vs. Result to ensure Getting things done right
• Common values: Be Curious, AI-first, Growth Mindset, Team Spirit, Move fast, Be pragmatic, and more.
Your Manager
You and your manager will meet on Day 1 to:
• Review your onboarding plan
• Set up a recurring 1:1 check-in schedule
• Discuss early goals and expectations
Your Team
Most teams hold a weekly sync call, and you’ll join during your first week to get familiar with the people you’ll work closely with.
Your MEARKEA Buddy
Your buddy will be someone outside your direct team, but with solid experience at MEARKEA.
They’re your go-to when you’re not sure who to ask.
They’ll:
• Reach out during your first week
• Offer help and friendly guidance
• Check in regularly during your first couple of months
People Ops
You’ll meet with MEARKEA’s People Ops team to review:
• Company policies
• Employee benefits
• Compensation structure
• Support resources available to you
